Zero Trust is often sold as a product. In practice it is a set of design principles: verify explicitly, grant least privilege, and assume breach.
Verify explicitly
Every request is authenticated and authorised using all available signals: identity, device health, location and the sensitivity of what is being accessed. Multi-factor authentication is the minimum.
Use least privilege
Give people and services only the access they need, for only as long as they need it. Review access regularly and remove what is unused.
Assume breach
Segment networks, encrypt traffic internally, log what matters and rehearse your response, so one compromised account or machine does not become a full compromise.
No single tool delivers all of this. A realistic plan starts with identity, then devices, then segmentation and monitoring, in that order.
